Nothing civil about it...

Your old buddy Bo lounges in the tub re-reading Moonraker when the phone rings. Caller ID reveals it's his old ultra-Leftist NDP-organizer pal, Walworf!

BO: Hey funster, what's up.

WALWORF: Bo, what does it take to get people to fucking acknowledge, "This is a civil war"?

BO: Ummm... all the combatants shaking hands and saying, "Hey, good fight"?

WALWORF: I mean, it's time to fucking acknowledge it's happening. It's a society at war for fuck's sake, duking it out. Let's admit it, it's a civil war!

BO: Dude - I agree! I mean, over a 100 cars in flames every single night for a whole year now, a dozen daily attacks on police or emergency workers, over 3000 officers injured in 12 months, total "no-go" zones!

WALWORF: Holy shit, bro! I had NO IDEA it was that bad in Iraq!!

BO: Iraq?? Aren't we talking about France???

Thanks to Darcey for that article.

This all began one year ago, and is still raging. Here is Wiki's definition of "civil war" - tell me this isn't one. Seriously, someone, please tell me that. Anyone? Buehler?

Hey,nice blog!!! I found a place where you can make an extra $800 or more a month. I do it part time and make a lot more than that. It is definitely worth a visit! You can do it in your spare time and make good cash. Make Extra Cash

Again,

Jason, you're the first to comment in your own post... you know you can edit a published post, yes?

And unlike the naive Chucker, I picked up on your little rouse once you mentioned the 100 cars in flames...

HEY, anonymous! Can I also make an extra $800 or more a month? I have a nice blog! Because this sounds like just the kind of get rich quick scheme that I can get behind with no fear of getting screwed out of my house... I don't know what it is about an anonymous person offering me cash, but there is just something inherently trustworthy about them

Would you prefer if it were the relative of a deposed African dictator offering to put millions of dollars in your bank account if you were to just kindly pass along that information?

Jason, more than 15 years ago in some places. It's often argued that Inner city Detroit, for instance, never recovered from the rioting of the late 60s and early 70s.

I've heard of those Detroit riots - did they go on all year? The Rodney King riots were about a week, I think - or is that just how it seemed back then? I do remember that, and I remember "Can't we all just get along?".

Jason, Detroit was most of a summer, Rodney King was a year, the point being that the damage from them has never been repaired.
