She's got no dead people behind her, granted - but still.

Let me get this straight...

So far, not only is Martha Hall Findlay not running second to the frontrunner four, but - she's losing to ALL candidates. Dryden, Brison, even Volpe, and even Undeclared, are all beating her.

Okay, so she's never held a federal office and has some murky policy thoughts - I'm not saying she should win, I'm just saying that she's losing to Brison and Volpe and Undeclared.

In other related news, Rona Ambrose could be the first elected female PM, I'm starting to think. So far, she's a politician I can like. Maybe even a lot.

I thought volpe at most would get 2 or 3 delegates but I was wrong. May be it is the spirits voting for him, happy to be remember among the living.

Joanne, I should be more positive and instead give a big shout-out to the delegates giving Martha H F their support.

I'm sorry too that MHF didn't get more support.

But in the clear light of day, let's face it, she had about as much grounds for thinking she could win the Liberal leadership as you or I would -- no more, no less.

Some of us might make good leaders too, but we haven't really given any of our fellow citizens much reason to vote for us yet, have we? We may be smart, attractive and well-spoken, but we haven't written any books, or run any provincial governments, or been a federal cabinet minister or even an MP.

In the end, MHF was in exactly the same position, and it showed. People always make lots of noise about wanting to see "new faces", but then it dawns on them that the new faces have no experience, and that maybe having some experience is a pretty important part of the job description as well.

I hope MHF takes the right message from this, which is that the affection for her in the party is much broader than her actual support, and we'd like to see her in government somewhere soon.
